The Annual Carousel Center Gala: Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and More
April 16, 2010
One, two, three o’clock, four o’clock rock
Five, six, seven o’clock, eight o’clock rock
Nine, ten, eleven o’clock, twelve o’clock rock
We’re gonna rock around the clock tonight!
Back in 1955, Bill Haley and the Comets used these lyrics to usher in the era of Rock n’ Roll, wowing audiences everywhere and making musical history. On Friday, April 16, at 8 p.m. at downtown Wilmington’s Coastline Conference and Event Center, the same culture-bending, hip-twisting, guitar-twanging history will be revisited in all its celebrity at The Carousel Center’s “Making Legends Local – Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and More” seventh annual live benefit performance.
The one-night-only event on Friday, April 16, will showcase the talent of local community and business leaders who assume the identities of various Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famers, including Jerry Lee Lewis, Queen, Janis Joplin, The Beatles and KISS.
The program begins at 8 p.m. and is preceded by a Red Carpet reception from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person for the show and $100 per person for the receptions and preferred seating at the show. A limited number of tickets will be available for $25 per person. Tickets are available for purchase by calling The Carousel Center at (910) 254-9898.
