SUMMARY:SOLD OUT! Heart of the Matter & Tinman Awards February 18th\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Nathan Spiteri is a filmmaker\, actor\, writer and survivor\n\n\n\nGet ready to hear a story of incredible resilience and transformation from someone who has lived through the darkest experiences—and emerged with a powerful message of hope and healing. Nathan’s journey from a childhood marred by sexual abuse to becoming a global advocate for survivors is nothing short of inspiring.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBorn in Canberra\, Australia\, Nathan survived unimaginable trauma as a child. Threatened with his own life and that of his family\, he struggled to cope\, turning to drugs\, violence\, and sex as a means to survive. After hitting rock bottom\, Nathan found a way through\, thanks to intensive therapy and support from Alcoholics Anonymous\, Narcotics Anonymous\, and Sex Addicts Anonymous. His journey of recovery and healing has led him to dedicate his life to helping others escape the pain he once knew so well. \nNathan is not just a survivor—he is a voice for change. His advocacy work spans the globe\, from his involvement with the Children’s Liberation Foundation to his role as an ambassador for the Australia Says No More campaign\, which fights to end domestic violence and sexual abuse. Nathan also supports SAMSN\, one of Australia’s leading organizations for male survivors of child sexual abuse\, and Menslink\, which helps young men navigate tough times with strength and resilience. \nBut Nathan’s story doesn’t end there. An accomplished actor\, writer\, and producer\, he has starred in films and theatre productions across Australia and the U.S. His life story is now being developed into a feature film and a limited series\, a testament to his remarkable journey. His memoir\, Toy Cars\, dives deep into his experiences and offers readers a raw and honest look at what it takes to rise above trauma. \nNathan’s message is one of courage\, survival\, and empowerment\, and his keynote at our event is not to be missed. Whether you’re a survivor\, an advocate\, or someone seeking inspiration\, Nathan’s story will move you\, challenge you\, and leave you ready to join the fight to end sexual abuse and exploitation. \nCome hear Nathan speak and be part of a movement that is changing lives\, one story at a time. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to be inspired by someone who has not only survived but is making a lasting difference in the world. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you for changing lives and helping to make more smiles in the world!\nFind Your Table Host! This EVENT is Sold OUT! \n500 have registered to join us to learn more about the Carousel Child Advocacy Center and how to support the mission. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors\, 100% of your donations at this event will go to support the mission and services that provided to children who have reports of physical or sexual abuse.   \nCarousel Center is the only nationally accredited child advocacy center serving Brunswick\, New Hanover\, and Pender Counties. Carousel serves children from birth up to age 18. All services are provided in a nurturing\, child-friendly\, and safe environment regardless of a family’s ability to self-pay. \nThe Tin Man Biggest Heart Awards honored the unsung heroes who continually are at the heart of how Carousel Child Advocacy Center can offer healing services to nearly 500 child victims of physical and sexual abuse\, neglect\, and maltreatment\, who come for our services each year. \nThank you for your support! #CCACjusttryingtohelpsomekids \nCheck Out this Year’s \nTin Man Nominees
