Thank you for your interest in helping a child/family this holiday season. All our Kids/families have been assigned. This year we have had an extraordinary response – to date 83 children and their caregivers will have something special under their tree this year. Thank you!!
“We cannot help everyone in the community, but we are absolutely going to ensure Carousel’s families have the support they need. Our families have all been through some very difficult and unsettling events over this past year – as well as navigating a global pandemic, too.
Holiday Hugs is something small that Carousel Center does to help them add some normalcy back into their lives. You ensure an adult caregivers’ concerns about providing Christmas morning for their children, especially after one or more of them have needed services at Carousel Center, is a priceless gift to give! We are also gifting them back some of the control that they can naturally feel was taken from them due to child physical/sexual abuse,” said Child Advocacy Supervisor, Frannie Ramirez, who organizes Carousel Center’s efforts.
The TCC Holiday Hugs program involves matching a child, or family, in need with a Secret Santa who is willing to adopt them this holiday season.
All donated gifts must be delivered to our offices located at 1501 Dock St by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9th.
Over the years, Secret Santa’s have donated hundreds and hundreds of items for Carousel’s Holiday Hugs. Many years ago, the idea of Holiday Hugs began as a cooperative effort with American Legion Post 10, Stanley B-Jammin’ 99.9, Alan Perry and the Perry’s Emporium Team, and now Books-A-Million has joined the effort to ensure all children who visited Carousel Center for forensic/medical, family advocacy, or trauma therapy services, within the last year, would never have to worry about providing their children a warm and wonderful Christmas morning!
