TCC Holiday Hugs program involves matching a family or child in need with a Secret Santa who is willing to sponsor them this holiday season. This is not a real picture of a TCC child but a representation of the spirit of giving that embodies the Holiday Hug Program.

Holiday Hugs ~ All Kids and Families are Matched!

Good News! All Kids and Families are matched.  Thank you for your interest in helping our kids this holiday season.  Please give to support our services so we can meet their needs year-round.

Holiday Hugs matches Secret Santa’s with a child survivor, their siblings, and their family in need, wish list.  A Secret Santa may be an individual, family, group of co-workers, or an entire business.  They ensure that a child’s Santa wishes are fulfilled and that they have a very special holiday. A Secret Santa will be matched, with a child, children, and/or family and are provided their Santa wish list; Secret Santa will then deliver the items to our 1501 Dock St location.

Last year, over 35 Secret Santa’s met the wishes of OVER 90 children and their caregivers.  This year, we have over 40 Secret Santa’s helping over 110 children and their caregivers.

  • Wish lists were provided to over 40 Secret Santa’s the week of November 22.
  • Please deliver all gifts UNWRAPPED. Your donations of paper, tape, ribbon, bows, bags are welcome.
  • All items to be delivered to our 1501 Dock St Location anytime between the hours of 8:30 am and 4 pm, on one of these three dates of Monday, December 6,  Wednesday, December 8, or Friday, December 10th.
    • We are located in the block between Market St and Dock, 16th and 17th St. Next to St. Andrews Covenant Church; our building has bright blue trim.

“We cannot help everyone in the community, but we are absolutely going to ensure Carousel’s families have the support they need. Our families have all been through some very difficult and unsettling events over this past year – as well as navigating a global pandemic, too” said Franchesca Ramirez, Family Advocate Supervisor & Coordinator of the Holiday Hugs Program

Holiday Hugs is a small way Carousel Center does to help them add some normalcy back into their lives. You ensure an adult caregivers’ concerns about providing Christmas morning for their children, especially after one or more of them have needed services at Carousel Center, is a priceless gift to give!  You will be gifting them back some of the control that they can naturally feel was taken from them due to child physical/sexual abuse.

Books A Million Wilmington Supports Holiday Hugs Program With Donations
American Legion Post 10 Wilmington NC

Over the years, Secret Santa’s have donated toys, bikes, art supplies, hundreds of wish list items for The Carousel Center’s Holiday Hugs children and caregivers. Many years ago, the idea of Holiday Hugs began as a cooperative effort with American Legion Post 10, Stanley B-Jammin’ 99.9, Alan Perry, and the Perry’s Emporium Team.  Books-A-Million, MegaCorp, and this year, Target has joined the effort to ensure all child survivors of abuse who visit Carousel Center for forensic/medical, family advocacy, or trauma therapy services, within the last year, will not have to worry about providing their children a warm and wonderful Christmas morning! We Believe!

Santa is notoriously difficult to capture in a picture, here are only a few we were able to catch in the act.  We believe!
