Trashcan Therapy is a percussion ensemble out of Roland-Grise Middle School, here in Wilmington, NC. Students are auditioned for percussion while in the 6th grade, and then become a part of this ensemble during their 7th and 8th grades. Each grade level meets separately, but daily. The group learns to play traditional percussion instrument primarily, but have been know to also play on nontraditional instruments as well (such as buckets, trashcans, ladders, or even plastic tubes). The groups this year consist of six 7th graders, and seven 8th graders.
