Position Title: CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

Reports to: Executive Director

FLSA Status: Full-Time/Exempt

Child Therapists and Master’s Level Interns/Service Learning/ Practicum/Work Study students and/or Agency Volunteers

Work Schedule: Available for a flexible schedule with regular parameters of agency business conducted: Monday-Friday from 8a-6:30p (some evening or weekend hours may apply)

Location/Remote Work: On-site in office, agency’s offices in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender counties, and respective catchment service community; some flexibility with work-from-home/remote work based on organization needs.  

Travel: Required locally (Brunswick, New Hanover & Pender), statewide and nationally to meet organizational needs.

Job Summary:

The Clinical SUPERVISOR (CLSup) leads Carousel Child Advocacy Center’s (CCAC’s) Clinical Team for child trauma treatment services and to ensure Child Advocacy Center outcomes of promoting healing, accessing justice, and strengthening resilience for child survivors of physical/sexual abuse and to improve our community through education, prevention and advocacy. Primary responsibility is to advise/facilitate/supervise the Clinical Team & clinician credentialing, manage/facilitate clinical schedules, clinical statistical database, assist with grant reporting requirements, assessing/updating Clinical Services SOPs, participation in community meetings, crisis intervention and accompaniment services. Supports the agency operations by providing administrative coverage, structure and crisis intervention as needed. Ensures agency services are provided with cultural/linguistic awareness, belonging, inclusion, diversity and equity. Collaborates, informs, supports Leadership Team and Executive Director (ED).

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in social work or counseling.
  • Licensed as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT in North Carolina.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in public or non-profit victim-centered, child protective services, and/or criminal justice system.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal record, sex offender registry and drug screen.
  • Access reliable transportation, valid operator’s license, and proof of vehicle insurance.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Licensed as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT in North Carolina.
  • Knowledge, training and experience in individual/group therapy, specifically for children.
  • Knowledge, training and experience in child development, crime victims, trauma and crisis intervention.
  • Knowledge, training and experience in forensic interviews, specifically with children.
  • Training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT),
  • Knowledge and experience developing/implementing/working with multi-systemic community partnerships.
  •  Current First Aid/CPR Certification.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist the Leadership Team to assess, enhance, and execute the Vision, Mission, and Core Values by:

  • Ensuring agency adherence to NCA Child Advocacy Center Accreditation standards, laws, policies, and accompanying procedures for Mental Health services for children who have experienced trauma.
  • Maintaining clinical documentation/database, per CCAC, grant source-required, NC and US applicable laws, policies, and standards; and
  • Ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.

Builds a Child Trauma Clinical Team by:

  • Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and supervising Clinical Team positions.
  • Supports agency recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and supervising master’s level student interns/service learning/practicum and/or work-study students;
  • Leading intentional management and growth of Clinical Services practices array, tri-county MDT, orientation, Case Review strategies, strategic training and outreach events; and
  • Building/Maintaining relationships with DA’s, law enforcement, Departments of Social Services, mental/behavioral health, victims services, school professionals, and other community-identified professionals.
  • Facilitates Clinical Team support for CCAC operational efficiency, effectiveness through encouraged communication, shared administrative coverage (as needed), crisis intervention and other areas that assist overall teamwork and amiable collegial working relationships.

Coordinates Clinical Operations by:

  • Facilitating support and leadership for the Clinical Team.
  • Facilitating agency client clinical database management, assisting clinician credentialing processes, and client therapy records management.
  • Strategic Leader for agency engagement in tri-county community meetings, councils, and coalitions.
  • Facilitating/Providing client-supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and accompaniment services; and
  • Supporting agency operations and Leadership Team members through structure, administrative coverage, and crisis intervention.

Position Title: Development Manager

Reports to:  Executive Director

FLSA Status:  Full-Time/Exempt

Supervises:  Development Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Development Manager (DM) leads Carousel Child Advocacy’s (CCAC’s) day-to-day Development Operations. The DM manages grant writing/applications, the donor management software platform, donor recognition/relationships, and future endowment/planned giving program implementation. The DM also manages and assists the Development Coordinator with fundraising events and event subcommittees.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A four-year degree or higher in fundraising, marketing/social media, development, business management, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in public or non-profit development management.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert experience with DonorPerfect or similar donor management software.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with Constant Contact, CANVA, WordPress, and event management software a plus.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal record, sex offender registry, drug screen, and finger printing.
  • Access to reliable transportation, have a valid operator’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Certified Fund Raising Executive Certified (CFRE).
  • Knowledge, training, and experience with non-profit development, event planning and management.
  • Knowledge and experience developing/implementing/working with endowment and planned giving systems.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.

 Essential Job Functions:

Maintains NCA Child Advocacy Center Accreditation Standard for Agency Capacity by

  • Ensure collaborative relationships with catchment area grants, donations, and fundraising event systems remain active, supportive, and viable, including Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging & Access (DEIBA) initiatives for intersectional community opportunities for increasing CCAC’s relationships with key stakeholders to assist with DEIBA initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the Board Development Committee to ensure best-practice standards.
  • Researching and implementing optimal funding/donor processes with the Leadership Team to ensure the agency’s ability to address community needs.
  • They are collaborating, informing, and supporting Carousel’s Leadership and direct services Teams to obtain expert training, peer support, and academic exposure and highlights for forensic interviewing child abuse forensic medical expertise, trauma therapy, victim support advocacy, policy, and systems on a local, state and national stage.
  • Ensure CCAC organizational efforts for efficient/effective case review, coordination, tracking child-focused setting, and safety/protection.
  • Collaborate with the Board and Team to ensure organizational capacity, including efforts to meet NCA Accreditation Standards, plus any optional standards outlined.
  • Supporting MDT/Advocacy Supervisor to manage, capture, and document required accreditation data, and
  • Establishing systems and processes for outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success in a development function (managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources)

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills; including an intermediate level knowledge/skill with Microsoft Office, Canva, DonorPerfect, and qGiv applications;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently, prioritize and manage multiple needs/priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and efficiency; with abilities to be proactive to longer-range agency  development/fundraising needs;
  • Flexible and adaptable style in high-pressure/crisis situations; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives;
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, including being open to constructive criticism and feedback

POSITION DUTIES/TASKS (ESTIMATED PERCENTAGE OF TIME ALLOCATED):

  • 60% – Have primary responsibility for the development and executive of all Carousel grant writing, fundraising events, sponsor/donor management and post-event communications;
  • 20% – Receive and process written donor correspondence, database management, appointments, and other duties as related to Carousel grants, fundraising/donations, and development;
  • 10% – Construct, articulate, and implement an annual strategic fundraising/development plan;
  • 5% – Research funding sources and trends, with the foresight to position Carousel Center ahead of major funding changes or trends;
  • 5% — Other duties as assigned

Prevention & Outreach Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Prevention & Outreach Coordinator leads the Carousel Child Advocacy Center’s (CCAC) prevention programs across Pender, Brunswick, and New Hanover counties, functioning as a regional resource for child abuse prevention. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role focuses on implementing evidence-based strategies, community engagement, and program oversight to advance CCAC’s mission.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Background in child abuse prevention, education, and/or advocacy.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Pre-employment background checks, including criminal record and drug screening.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance.Preferred Education and Experience:

Position Specifications:

Prevention

  • Contribute to the delivery and improvement of prevention programs by identifying challenges and developing action plans.
  • Conduct a landscape analysis of prevention and support services in the Tri-County area to enhance collaboration, awareness, and access to resources.
  • Scale and adapt proven prevention strategies across different sectors and communities.
  • Manage program evaluation processes, maintain training data and statistics, and report results to CCAC leadership.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Development teams to secure grant funding and support prevention campaigns.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, including openness to feedback and constructive criticism.

Outreach

  • High energy and passion for CCAC’s mission, with a professional presentation and excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors, build long-term relationships, and foster community partnerships.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of an annual outreach and education plan with MDT partners, addressing the professional development needs of CCAC staff and volunteers.
  • Lead community engagement efforts to expand CCAC’s prevention initiatives by building partnerships and developing programs that promote child safety.
  • Implement strategic communications to boost community awareness and engagement with CCAC’s services and resources.
  • Demonstrate effective team behavior and interpersonal relationships, with the ability to multi-task, work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple needs and deadlines.

Additional Responsibilities (to be taken on over time)

  • Support ongoing research with UNCW to evaluate the societal impact of prevention programs.
  • Lead the Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse by engaging stakeholders, managing resources, and expanding coalition capacity.
  • Assist in recruiting and supervising prevention interns and facilitators, ensuring alignment with CCAC’s mission and supporting professional development.
  • Participate in CCAC leadership and team meetings and maintain professional competency through continuing education.

Position Duties/Tasks (Estimated Time Allocation)

  • 55% – Develop and manage prevention and outreach programs, including training, partnerships, facilitator engagement, coalition management, and community outreach.
  • 20% – Oversee data management and program reporting.
  • 10% – Develop and align outreach and education plans with CCAC’s mission.
  • 5% – Support research initiatives to assess and improve program impact.
  • 5% – Identify funding opportunities to support the prevention department.
  • 5% – Other duties as assigned.
